Kids Bible Games
Memory Verse Games
Bible Verse Hang Man
Have the class split up into two groups (boys against girls is fun!). Draw
hangman on the chalkboard with a line for every letter of the memory verse.
Let the children go back and forth choosing a letter of the verse. When a child guesses incorrectly it is the other teams turn. A team can guess the whole memory verse if they guess correctly they win. If not the other team wins.
Memory Verse Erase Game
Have the teacher or helper write the memory verse on the chalkboard.
Let the whole class repeat all together including book & chapter.
Then have the teacher erase 1 word from the memory verse and have the children repeat with the missing word. Continue until all of the words from
the memory verse are erased and see if children can still recite the verse!
(You can also break up your class into groups and compete to see which one
can remember first)
Memory Verse Puzzle
Teacher writes out the memory verse onto a piece of card stock approximately 18″ x 12″ and then cuts the memory verse card stock into puzzle pieces and lets kids put together. (You can also create 2 and compete in teams.)
Memory Verse Index Card Game
Write the memory verse with every word on an individual index card 2 times. Have the kids compete to see who can arrange the memory verse in the correct order first. (You can also have each child write the memory verse onto the index cards and have a whole class competition and see which child can do the fastest!)
Fruit of the Spirit Game
Using masking tape or a long piece of yarn separate a large game area for the children. After going through the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit verses the fruit of the flesh have children line up and have one side of the masking tape be the “Fruit of the Spirit” side and the other side of the masking tape be the “Fruit of the Flesh” side. Whenever you say a characteristic of the “Fruit of the Spirit” such as “being kind” the children have to guess which fruit that is and jump into that side.
