How To Make A Childrens Bible Lesson- Elementary Age

1-Open with prayer-Remember to be firm with this the children are speaking to God.
They must have a respectful attitude. Encourage children to participate. Either you
can open and ask children if any one has any prayer requests and let them pray or you
can ask a child that you know who would be comfortable in opening to pray.

2-Go over memory verse & see if any one remembers lesson points from last week.

3-Tell children bible book
-Is it Old Testament or New Testament?
-Tell children how to find bible book from the index
(We strongly encourage children to bring their bibles from home to read in class. This trains the child to read a bible, it teaches the children the bible, where the books are and helps them to be comfortable in reading the bible. It encourages a daily bible reading discipline. The bible is theirs. It is a love letter from God to them!)

4-Have children take turns reading a verse from the bible.
-Have the children read the entire teaching passage.

5-Teachers read over the same passage teaching as you go.
-1st explain parts of passage that is difficult to understand
-2nd focus on the parts of scripture that the children can apply to their lives.
-3rd the major focal point of this particular passage
-4th read memory verse

6-Have children write down memory verse.

7-Do craft,  game or object lesson.

8-Snack

9-Close in prayer

10-Have children help clean & straighten room.

11-Remind children to try and remember their memory verse.
-To read their bibles
-To bring their own bibles to church
