The Attributes of God – God is Eternal
HOOK: Show a hoola-hoop. Demonstrate how to use a hoola-hoop and what fun it is!
Talk about how a circle has no beginning and no end.
Ask children to close their eyes while you draw a circle on the chalkboard or a piece of paper. When they open their eyes, ask them to tell you where you started drawing the circle and where it ended. Cross Print Out
BOOK:Just like there is no beginning or ending of a circle, there is no beginning and no ending to God. There was never a time when God didn’t exist
- Psalm 90:2 “From everlasting to everlasting you are God.”
- Psalm 119:89 “Your Word, O Lord, is eternal.”
- Jeremiah 10:10 “He is the living God and eternal King.”
- Daniel 4:3 “His kingdom is an eternal kingdom.”
LOOK:Does your mother ever tell you about things which happened before you were born?
There was a time when there was no You- you weren’t born; you weren’t alive.
But God is different. There was never a time when God was not there. God has always been alive. However far back we think, God was there.
God never changes. He doesn’t get old, as we do. He will never die, or go away. He is always there, and always will be.
We can be happy that God will always be here for us!
TOOK:Our God is the only One who has no beginning and no end. He is not created, He has no birthday and you can’t find his grave. Because God is never-ending like a circle, eternal, He is the one true God and we must worship Him and live for Him and praise and thank Him with all our hearts.
Draw a circle on a piece of paper and see if your neighbor can guess where you started and where you ended your circle. Every time you see something round, remember that God is ETERNAL- there is no end and no beginning to God.
Closing Prayer :Heavenly Father, thank you that you always have been here and will always be here. Thank you that you take care of all things and that I don’t have to be afraid. Help me to remember that you are like a circle and that you have been and will always be the One True God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Memory Verse: “He is the true God and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20
