Deuteronomy 23:5b

Deuteronomy 23:5b >God Made Us All Different

HOOK:
Show the children pictures of different types of people.  Say:  Wow! There are many faces in many places all over the world, aren’t there?  There are lots of people who all look different.  But who made all these different people?

Lead the children in the following rhyme:
Large and small, (hold arms out wide, then close together)

Short and tall, (squat down, then stand tall with arms upraised)

The Lord our God (point upward)

Has made us all! (hold arms out to the sides)

Large and small, (hold arms out wide, then close together)

Short and tall, (squat down, then stand tall with arms upraised)

The Lord our God (point upward)

Loves us all! (give yourself a hug)

BOOK: Deuteronomy 23:5b

LOOK:
God made us, and God made us all in very special ways.  And because God made us, God loves us –just the way we are!

Flip through the pictures and say:

It doesn’t matter what color our eves or hair or skin may be; God made us and loves us just as we are.  Isn’t that wonderful?

TOOK:
Have the children make flipbooks by cutting different photos of faces in thirds.  The children can change the top, middle, and bottom to make different faces.

Say:    Just think of all the people God made—and each and every person is different and very special!  God made us and loves us just as we are.  He wouldn’t change things about us because he loves us!  I’m so happy that God loves me the way I am.  That makes me like myself, too!  And how do I know God loves me as I am?  The Bible tells me so.

Read Deuteronomy 23:5b

Who made us?

Why does God love us the way we are?

How can we tell God we love Him too?

Have the children respond.

MEMORY VERSE:
“The Lord looks at the heart.”  1Samuel 16:7

CLOSING PRAYER:
Dear God, we thank You for making us, we thank you for making us all different and we thank You for loving us the way we are.  Amen.
